Español (Spanish) and Marching
This week in Pathfinders, we started the Spanish and Drilling and Marching Honors. I am not the teacher of these two honors but I am helping out in the background. My honors will be coming up soon. We will have another staff meeting either this week or next week. The Spanish honor was originally thought of by the staff so that the kids could learn a little bit about different cultures. The main things that the students will be learning how to say are the Pathfinder Pledge and Law, Aim, and Motto. They will also be learning some other vocabulary words that will help them to be able to converse about the bible.
Afterwards, we started the drilling and marching honor. In this honor, the kids learn the basics of drilling and marching. The kids will learn how to march in time, stand at attention, turn, and do other moves such as column marching and cross marching. The kids usually enjoy the time that they spend marching because they have fun doing it. It is also good for the staff because we can tire out the children so that they are not as hyper. This honor will continue for two more weeks. One main reason for this honor is because we are going to have an inspection coming soon. In an inspection, the area coordinator comes to our club meeting and watches how we work and gives us points on if our uniforms are correct and our marching techniques. We want the kids to be well prepared for the inspection that will take place in the end of January.

I did not realize Pathfinders was for girls and boys!
ReplyDeleteWould the Inspection date be a good day for me to come and observe you? If you are not teaching then I would not want to come at that time though.
