Inspection! What?!...NO!!

This week at Pathfinders, we opened with pledge, law, and prayer and then got down to work.  This week, we continued the Spanish honor with the kids learning la ley (law) and el voto (pledge) in spanish.  The kids seem to enjoy learning how to say these parts of the Pathfinder program in Spanish.  I will put the pledge up in Spanish and in English at the bottom of this post.  After the Spanish practice, the kids went down to the gym to practice marching and for inspection.  Inspection is coming up next week and we always want to score high (highest is 105).  Usually if the kids score 100 or above the staff treats them to pizza and ice cream, so that gives them an incentive to work hard and try their best.  The inspector will come to our club meeting and observe how we do our opening exercises (pledge, law, prayer, etc.) and then how we march.  Everyone will be in full dress uniform so that is our Class A which includes the sash and scarf and dress shirt and pants.  I will post how we do on our score next week. Wish us luck.

Voto (Pledge)

Por la gracia de Dios (By the grace of God)
Seré puro, bondadoso, y leal (I will be pure, kind, and true)
Guardaré la ley del Conquistador (I will keep the Pathfinder law)
Seré un siervo de Dios (I will be a servant of God)
y un amigo de la humanidad. (and a friend to man).

  2. Haha. So you were going to title your blog "Inspection. What? NO!"? I thought you were going to call it "Are you there God, its me Dean Winchester".

  3. How often do the kids wear their uniform? What is the highest level of Pathfinders? How many of the kids make it to that level? Is this program recognized by colleges similar to the Eagle scout program? It sounds really neat and rather extensive- how far along are you??
    The pictures are quite helpful!
